During this 6-week course, students will learn how to make choices with their work and develop the skills necessary to make pots with additive features such as handles, finials, and lids etc. Advanced techniques as throwing off the hump, creating closed forms and strategies for throwing large vessels will be covered as well. The projects given through this class will focus primarily on function and the techniques required for making stronger vessels. The students will learn the key elements to ensure a concrete understanding of the structure and engineering behind technically sound pottery.
he price includes clay, glazes and 6 sessions of open studio for practice on Wednesdays from 5pm-9pm.
Firings Fee: 5 cents per cubic inch (that includes bisque and glaze firing).
Refund Policy: Refund and transfer requests must be made via mail or in person one week prior to start of the class. Registration receipts are required and there is a $35 processing fee for all refunds and transfers.
